IconicAF Season 2 (Fighters)

THE ICONIC AF SERIES

Season 2

Season 2 of the IconicAF series highlights some of the most courageous, skillful and respected fighters of all time. We have all been through certain stretches of our lives in which we are forced to fight… whether to defend ourselves against bullies, beating away the obstacles that stand in the way of achieving our major purpose or goals in life, or somehow struggling to keep the faith when it looks like everything is going to hell in a handbasket. These valiant warriors show an uncanny ability to dig deep and summon power from a very deep reservoir of resources to come out victorious when all seems lost. This trait is something I think we should all strive towards if we are to make it through what can be this sometimes treacherous maze of life. I have always wished that fighting spirit for myself as I continually strive for self actualization in this realm. May the same fighting spirit be now bestowed upon you. Be kind, be confident, but make sure you carry a big stick!

And with that Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor to welcome you to IconicAF Season 2!

Bruce Lee is a hero to many people around the world even till this very day. When I look back at a lot of his documentaries, it is clear that he was way ahead of his time in terms of philosophy, his approach to health, and his approach to story telling. Some of the most vivid memories of my glorious childhood are the numerous afternoons spent watching his movies and going out into the yard right after the movie was over to mimic his moves. A man of East Asian descent but born in San Francisco CA, he was in many ways a bridge between eastern and western cultures. Although he died way to young, I am grateful that he lived and gave so many of us something to aspire to.

Muhammad Ali

S2, Episode 2: “fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee”

30”X48” ACRYLIC PAINTING ON CANVAS

status: sold! (Salt lake city, utah)

It is impossible to talk about greatness without somehow either mentioning or thinking about this great man. I know he was a boxer by profession, but he was one of those rare individuals whose star far transcended his field of work. Equal parts brash, skilled, outspoken, and confident, Ali definitely will go down as one of the eminent sports icons of all time. Can you imagine what it must have been like to stand up for what you believe in as a black man in that time even-though it cost him three of his prime years and the heavyweight championship of the world? That’s courage if I’ve ever seen it. God bless you champ! Rest in power.
