Artist Bio…

Chuba Oyolu Ph.D. was born on the 28th day of July 1982 in Enugu, Nigeria. He grew up in Lagos in a close-knit family as the last of 5 children. He moved to the United States in 2000 and has since gone on to earn a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering both at Stanford University. During his academic career, Chuba has been named University Scholar (3 times), Class Valedictorian, Patent Inventor, Siebel Scholar, and member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. After school, Chuba served an instrumental role in building the scientific division of a Genetics testing company - Counsyl Inc - which was eventually sold to Myriad Genetics in the spring of 2018.

Chuba has a variety of deep interests and is especially passionate about art in all forms, blues guitar, science, creative writing, fitness (strength training, martial arts, swimming), and the beautiful game (soccer). He remains a devoted Arsenal fan even through the many recent barren premier league “trophy-less” years.

Chuba developed an interest in the fine arts in early 2007 during a time of transition between Pittsburgh, PA and Palo Alto, CA. He is a huge Michelangelo fan and also has big admiration for Leonardo, Jonathan Ive, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Chuck Close. Chuba also loves to play both electric and acoustic guitar, and appreciates the musical brilliance of Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, John Mayer, Bob Dylan, and Alicia Keys. Currently, he lives a simple and unassuming life in San Bruno, CA.
